Friend does NOT recive game invite (PC) (GoW4)

This is for Gears of War 4 on PC

So, we have been at this ALL DAY,

things we have tried:

Reset the Windows Store

Reset the XBOX App

Did the Tedero Network Settings thing...

Made sure his Win10 has the proper notification settings turned on (for windows and the xbox app)

On the xbox app the settings are ON for invites ETC.

It looks like windows does not PUSH the notification to him that i am sending him an INVITE to play the game

if I send him a message via xbox app, it tells him via Win10 (notification) but not that i am inviting him.

So the thing is that if HE sends us the invite.... it works.... we can join him. But since leader (host) cant be transferred in game

this doesn't meet our needs.

We have been at this for HOURS and still nothing.

Since nothing Microsoft or Xbox people say seems to help on this site or Reddit etc. or even relate to the problem at hand, after messing around I found how to fix this for my situation. Sadly this may turn on more notifications from Microsoft than anybody actually wants....

    On Windows 10:

    >Mouse Over Bottom Right of the Screen to show 'Action Center'/Notifications

    >Click 'All Settings' (Gear Icon)

    >Click 'System - display, notifications, power'

    >Click 'Notifications & Actions'

    >Turn on   "Get notifications from apps and other senders" & "Show notifications on lock Screen"

    >Scroll Down

    >Obviously turn off all the worthless Notifications like 'Cortana'

    >Turn on Xbox and whatever else you want.

*Note: Since you said PC in the question portion of the OP I assume that you're looking for a fix for the PC. This seems obvious, but I noticed on other sites people really struggle with the difference between PC and XB1.

Really hope this helps anyone who needs it. I know the frustration of dealing with nonsense.

both his and mine are OPEN (NAT) . Its  We can actually join party chats, and play (if HE sends the invite)

however since on GOW4 if you host (and own maps) your friend can join in.

Since he is hosting and does not own the maps, we cant play them. that's the issue.

the thing is that WINDOWS is not  pushing a notification (the GAME invite)

    thanks for the reply.

Idk man, it is there on mine and I believe that it is automatically installed on all Windows 10 pcs.

If you're still trying to fix it you might be able to reset it:

Settings > Apps > Apps & Features > Scroll Down & Click  'Xbox' > Click 'Advanced Options' > Reset

Then go back to the first method.

    Hi Will,

We appreciate that you were able to perform some steps to resolve the issue. If you are experiencing issues with party chats on Windows 10, it can be caused by several reasons. It can be an issue with the profile and network settings on your end or the one who sends you an invite. Both of your settings should meet the requirements to join party chats on Xbox live.

We have solutions below that can help you resolve the issue. These troubleshooting steps should be done on your computer and your friend's computer. Before we start, please make sure to check your NAT Type first.

    1. Click the Start icon and open the Xbox app.
    2. Select Settings > Network.
    3. Under Network status, check the NAT type.

Once you got the result, please refer to this linkand perform the suggested solutions on your computer and your friend's computer. Follow the steps in order to get more accurate results.

We also recommend that you check your privacy and online safety settings on Xbox.com to ensure that your profiles are allowed to join multiplayer games and parties.

We will appreciate if you can update us the results so if these solutions won't work, we will find another way to resolve your concern.

Hmm... my "get notifications from apps and other senders" and "show notifications on lock screen" is already on.  However, I do NOT see "Xbox" when I scroll down in the "Get notifications from senders" list.  Should it be there?
