DVD/CD drive Windows 10 will not play CD because it says all files on CD are CDA?

What happened. Everything worked as it should until I updated to to Windows 10 Creator. That wrecked my PC . I returned my PC back to the original Windows 10 and now the CD players (2) do not work. I uninstalled them in Device Manager and then rebooted and they were reinstalled. I have these drives set to auto play with VCL and they of course do not auto play.  When you right click on the drive and hit open it shows the songs listed as cda files. VLC player will not play these neither will Windows Media Player. What is interesting is that DVDs play as they should. So How do I fix this so the correct music files are recognized and played.

Hi - if you look in the drive it will say CDA for file type (or CD Audio as it shows on my snip below) - that should not prevent a CD from playing... Can you post a screenshot of the disc opened in WMP - that may help.... Advice on posting an image at this link if needed...

    SCREENSHOTS

    Thanks, Ric.

Hi thanks for responding. Things have taken a turn for the better. After messing around finally getting my security cameras back after the Windows 10 Creators snafu I got back to the CD problem. I took the DVD that had been in the drive out and put different CD in and it played! Since it was after midnight I removed it and retired. This morning I put the original CD I could not play  in and my PC would not even recognize there was a disk in the drive! I again put the DVD in and it played! I then put in a different CD and it played. I took the unplayable CD out to the HT room put it in the laptop that is connected there and it would not play! ...For some reason that CD is corrupted! It is a rather new CD and had played in my car.

The picture you posted is what I had looked at yesterday on my PC and under the header "Type" it had cda. I would have grabbed a screen shot but as I stated previously no disk was recognized in the drive. I have no clue why my CD now is corrupted and will just get another one.
