Error code 0xF1

When I switch on my Epson XP-435, I get a message: "Printer Error, turn power off and on again. Error code 0xf1."   Needless to say, despite several cycles of switching off and on again, the printer remains inaccessible. This may have been initiated as a result of an attempt to print a document from an itablet. It seems a ridiculous state of affairs that a modern printer could be rendered useless simply by an attempt to make a wireless connection. Can anyone help, please?

Hey there, Jon! Welcome to the Microsoft Community forums. I'm Nathan, one of the community experts.

This error your getting means there is a paper jam in the printer. Please check your paper feeds, to make sure there is no jam. You should also get a red light on your screen, indicating there is a jam.

If your printer has a LCD Screen, then this should tell you where the jam is, and how to resolve it.

Please let me know how this goes, Regards,

    Hey there, Jon

Im glad my reply was helpful!

With the ink been a bit sketchy. Doing a nozzle check is the right way to go about things. It may be that they need re aligning or adjusting.

Lets see how that goes. They may need to be re tuned as well. If those fail, check to see how much ink you have left, just to make sure its not running out

    Regards,

Hi, The first thing I would suggest is to run the printer troubleshooter. Go to Control Panel>Troubleshooting>View all on the left and select Printers. It should automatically fix up the errors if possible. Reinstalling the printer might also help. Open Devices and Printers>Right click the Epson Printer and select Remove device. Restart your computer and try adding the printer again from the same menu. Hope that helps.

Hi Nathan, turns out a large plastic paper clip had dropped into the paper feed and well jammed in there. Doh! Wrenched it out and fortunately the incident hadn't traumatized the printer into a terminal state. Printing, however, is a little sketchy at the moment so I'm just trying to resolve that with a few 'nozzle checks', 'head cleaning' etc., or with any additional advice you might have regarding that latest issue? Many thanks for your response and your help. Kind regards, Jonathan.

Hi Jon, this is Andre from the Microsoft Community.

Lets see if we can get your problem resolved.

Press Windows key + R Type: control Hit Enter Open Devices and Printer Right click your Printer Click Troubleshoot then follow the on screen wizard.

Check if the problem is resolved when the troubleshooter is complete.

If the problem persists, I recommend you uninstall the reinstall the latest printer driver for that make and model.
