Microsoft PictureIt! Publishing Platinum 2001 compatibility for Windows 8.1

I have PIPP 2001, trying to get it to run on Windows 8.1.  I've tried all the suggestions in the community forum, uninstalled it & re-installed it but nothing will make it "compatible".  It's supposed to be compatible.  I have the same issues as several other people have posted.  It runs & accepts disks 1,2,3 & 5 per setup instructions.  As soon as any option of the program is selected, the same window comes up: Picture It! 2001 has stopped working.  A problem caused the program to stop working correctly.  Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.

I've used this program many years with Windows XP SP 3.  I'm really lost without it.

Any other suggestions? I do appreciate everyone that takes the time to try to solve the problems we encounter.

Thank you for your help.

Picture It Publisher has been my all time favorite software.  I am so very disappointed that it is no longer compatible with my Windows 10.  There will never be another software like it, unless the old is revived.

I have PIP Platinum, the discs still like new, but unusable.  Of all the things I most miss on my computer, PIP is number one on my list.  Everything else pales in comparison when it comes to the features of Picture It Publisher.

Will there ever be another one like it?

I agree, I am lost without PIP Platinum.  I've had my software for years and I take excellent care of my discs.  I am very disappointed that the new Windows versions do not permit use of my PIP.  I was successful in downloading my software on my Windows 10, however, when I go to use it I get script errors.  It is obviously not compatible with Windows 10.  PIP was and still is the best software for card makers, calendar makers, even web sites (which I've done in the past).  There is nothing on the market that compares with this software.  Why would it become useless on the new versions?   I dislike very much using Paint, etc. or any of the newer "replacements"  and Windows Live Photo Gallery offers nothing!   I do not use it!

    Hi,

I would like to inform you that Microsoft PicturIt! is not compatible with Windows 8.1. Microsoft's PictureIt! has been discontinued and replaced with Windows Live Photo Gallery. You may download Windows Live Photo Gallery for free and install it on Windows 8.1.

    Windows Live Photo Gallery:

    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-in/windows-live/photo-gallery#photogallery=overview

You can also use the built in photo editing program Paint. To open Paint

    a.       Press Windows key + Q and type PAINT.

    b.      Press Enter key.

You can refer to the following link to check the compatibility of Microsoft PictureIt!

    With Windows 8.1.

    https://www.microsoft.com/en-in/windows/compatibility/CompatCenter/ProductViewerWithDefaultFilters?TempOsid=Windows%208.1&Locale=en-in&Architecture=X64&TextSearch=Microsoft%2BPictureIt!&Type=Both&CurrentPage=0&TotalPages=1&ShowCriteria=0&SortCriteria=Relevance&Compatibility=Unknown&LastRequested=14

However, you can try to install the program in compatibility mode and check if it helps.

You can follow the link given below to install the program in compatibility mode.
