    Hi,

    1. Do you receive any error codes or messages?
    2. Have you made any recent changes on the system?
    3. Does the MP3 player get detected in windows explorer?

    Method 1:

You may try running the Hardware fixit from the following link and check if it helps.

Hardware devices are not working or are not detected in Windows

    Method 2:

Let’s check if the device gets detected in Device Manger.

    a. Click Start, type Device Manager in the Start search box and hit Enter.

    b. Expand Universal Serial Bus Controllers.

Does the MP3 player get detected here?

If yes, let’s check for the status of the same.

    c. Right-click the webcam and select Properties.

    d. Under General tab, check for the status of the webcam under Device status.

Does it show any error message/code associated with MP3 player? If yes, let us know the exact error message.

You may also refer to the following Phillip support article and check.

Thanx so much for your help & knowledge...I tried all you suggested & my problem ended up being fixed thru Phillips gogear support...it was very simple...I went thru the steps & they suggested plugging my device into the back of my pc & that worked...now why couldn't one of their sense & sensibility customer service reps have suggested that to me or the help tool to begin with???..I guess they have no sense or sensibility after all....again thanx & Happy Holidays...x/o Carol
