im in the slow ring for win10 creator updates. every few weeks I get new version to install. but the last one broke my pc and got me to this boot failure message. I pressed ok few times and then OneKey recovery showed up and asked me if I want to restore my pc to its initial state(and lose all my data). I pulled my HDD out and made a backup then I used the restore option which brought me to win 8.1 as out-of-box.

then I downloaded win10 media creation tool from here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-in/software-download/windows10.

I followed the steps. it downloaded win10 and then ask me whether to keep my file or not. I chose save ''nothing'' then the pc did a restart and started the installation procces. once it finished it did some restart and again the "windows boot manager boot failed" showed up again.

is there anything I can do further?

thank you.

my pc: Lenovo g50 i7 5500

    Hello Israel,

The error message Windows boot manager boot failed appears if the Master Boot Record is corrupted. The most common reasons why a Master Boot Record will be corrupted are malware infections and improper shutting down of your computer. For us to assist you, we suggest that you repair the Master Boot Record of your Windows 10 computer. Here's a simple guide that you can follow to do it:

    1. Press F8 while booting the system to go into the Windows Recovery Menu.
    2. Click on Troubleshoot.
    3. Click on Advanced options to get into Automatic Repair menu.
    4. We need to use the Bootrec.exe tool. Click on command prompt and type in the following commands, one after the other:

    bootrec /RebuildBcd

    bootrec /fixMbr

    bootrec /fixboot

bootsect /nt60 SYS or bootsect /nt60 ALL 5. Exit and now go ahead and reboot your system.

We highly recommend that you backup your Master Boot Record or create a System Recovery Disk so that in case something like this happens you don’t have to run the Windows Recovery Disk. To create a system recovery drive, just follow the steps listed below:

    1. Press the Start button.
    2. Type RecoveryDrive.exe.
    3. Click Next
    4. Once you insert the USB drive, it will start creating the Recovery on your USB drive.

Let us know how it goes and if you have further queries feel free to post back and we'll be assisting you.

We appreciate the information that you have provided. Since you're using a Windows 8.1 computer, here's a link that you can visit. From there, you'll see a thread with a similar issue, but it has been answered by one of our MVPs named Bill Smithers.

Kindly give us an update with the results and if you have further queries, feel free to post back.
