windows 10 how can I move apps to a new drive.

Reading docs they tell me that in "Settings" window I should see an "Installed Apps" as the third left menu item... this would be following "Display" and "Notifications & actions" -- but my windows has "Power & sleep" as the third option.

    Well, it isn't perfect, but...

    (1) Plug in the external media.

    (2) "START, Settings, Apps".

    (3) Scroll to & click the app, & click the Move button that appears.

A new requestor appears with a second move button.

    (4) Ensure the external media shows up in the requestor,

& click the second Move button.

This isn't perfect, because you will see lots of them don't have a move button: only Store apps will have it, I read. Also, many of those that do have a move button will have it shaded - it won't work. Anyway, here is how to have newly downloaded apps go there automatically...

    (1) Plug in the external media.

    (2) "START, Settings, System, Storage, Change where new content is saved".

Here are two articles I got that from...

Thank you for the response, but I seem to be getting different results, like the "others" you mentioned.

I think I am using the latest version of Windows 10:

and I see that under Settings/Applications I see sometimes "move"

    and sometimes "modify"

but regardless both options are grayed out and unable to move. And most of mine were not installed via the MS Store. I have installed from install exe files, "steam", and from media.

The second option would only work, if I uninstalled and re-installed the apps. insert deep sign here.

I did also read the MS decided to disable some of these features (no reason given that I saw) but now that Windows 10 has been out for sometime, I would have figured that this would have been resolved by now.

You are fully updated for v.1703. However, v.1709 is on the way...

It took over two hours (maybe over three) to download & install, but seems to be doing well. I've always been lucky with the upgrades. It adds a new feature you might like to OneDrive called "Files on demand". But it oddly came in the next day. It's a way to save space on C:...

Sadly, v.1709 is no big improvement with those Move buttons. Only apps installed through the Store have a chance to get one, & not all will work. Ensure the external media is plugged in - or none will work. Regarding uninstalling & reinstalling to move one, when I did that with Solitaire, it retained its statistics - just the thing I wanted to go!
