2017-10-04T21:04:52+00:00 Support for Windows (Live) Essentials - which includes Windows (Live) Movie Maker - ended on 10 January 2017. As such, *legitimate* downloads are no longer available.
You can purchase Movie Maker 8.1 via the Windows Store but it's NOT a Microsoft application => https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/store/p/movie-maker-81/9wzdncrfhwx8
