Problem with display after sleep since installing Fall Creators update Win 10 64 bit

I downloaded the Fall Creators Update as soon as it was available yesterday and installed on two laptops and one desktop without immediate problems.

Best update install process so far.  However, on the desktop I cannot use sleep mode.  If I put the PC to sleep, when it resumes the display is corrupted with a screen full of flickering vertical lines and no image.  Powering off via the PC power button and restarting from cold restores normal display.  I have used Intel's Driver Assist programme to update the HD 530 graphics (that installed a later version than WU did).  Nothing else has changed.  Device manager has no yellow symbols.  No new software installed.  Just the update. I don't use Hibernate so haven't tried that.  Clearly some process is not starting correctly after Sleep mode but works OK again after a reboot.

Any suggestions as to what they issue might be and advice on trouble shooting please?

What is the make and model of your computer?

Did you confirm if its compatible with the Fall Creators Update?

It could suggest you need to update your chipset drivers and BIOS.

uninstall your display driver then restart

Boot to the Windows 10 desktop

    Press Windows key + X

    Click Device Manager

    Expand Display adapters

Right click the current display adapter

    Click Uninstall

    Exit Device Manager

Restart, Windows 10 will automatically reinstall it.

If that does not work, well, we need to try something else. Try resetting the BIOS:

This thread on Intel's forum has the best information about the issue:

    https://communities.intel.com/thread/116427

(Several more reports of BIOS updates fixing the issue, but also may be fixed in Intel Graphics Driver 15.60.0.4849)

Thanks for your help.  Reinstalling the Display Adaptor didn't work but updating the BIOS did.  SLEEP and recovery from that state is now working again.

For the record it is a custom built PC with a Gigabyte GA-Z170N-WiFi Rev 1.0 board with an Intel Core i5 Skylake CPU (with integrated HD530 graphics)

Would seem to be the same scenario that I experienced.  My Bios went from F7 to F20d. Not sure what changed but the fact that it now works fine is good enough for me.  I don't tend to look to flash the Bios unless I experience some sort of problem which clearly was the situation with this OS upgrade.

I have a homemade PC with a Gigabyte GA-Z170-HD3P motherboard with integrated HD530 graphics and an Intel Core i5 Skylake CPU. Graphic update did not work, update to F22a bios did
