How to Copy CD to hard drive

It depends on what you are trying to do and what the disk is.

The previous suggestions will copy the files as they are stored on the disk although if a program disk it may fail if the disks incorporates copy protection.

An alternative is to create an ISO image of the disk contents as a single file. There are others but I use ISORecorder from Alex Fienman  to create the image.

This can then be mounted as a virtual disk with its own drive letter.

The External drive's Maker should have help and support for copying data to and from that drive.

With CD/DVD in optical drive- USB externel drive plugged into PC                                                                                                                                    Start with File Explorer>Computer>CD drive( ? : ). you can drag it(hold down left click button on your optical drive(cd-DVD drive) and move it to wherever. My documents, pictures,music,etc.

or you can right click on your optical drive(cd-DVD drive) and choose **send to>**Documents, or elsewhere.
