We bought Minecraft for Windows 10, and my son would like to play on a Windows 7 PC of a friend when visiting him. How does he get the password he needs to log into Minecraft, as his Outlook password won't let him log in.

Windows 10 Minecraft is not the same as Windows 7(Java Edition), you have to buy Minecraft Java Edition from https://minecraft.net in order to play on a Windows 7 machine. You can also play Minecraft Java Editon on a Windows 10 machine also. When buying from the Windows store you are entitled to the Windows 10 Edition ONLY, but if you buy it from https://minecraft.net you are entitled to Minecraft Java Edition and Minecraft Windows 10 Edition.
