How do I uninstall Nero Burning ROM when I don't have it installed?

I'm trying to upgrade from Vista 64-bit to Windows 7 64-bit. The Upgrade Advisor has given me the all-clear but the installation itself always stops at the Compatibility Report, which tells me I need to uninstall Nero Burning ROM. So far I have:

  • uninstalled all Nero products from my computer
  • ran check disk
  • tried uninstalling Nero on diagnostic startup
  • tried running Nero's own cleanup tool
  • reinstalled and uninstalled a trial version of Nero

all to no avail - I still get the same message from the Compatibility Report. Any ideas what the problem might be, or am I going to have to do a clean install?

Thanks in advance.

Do a registry search using "Nero" as the word to 'Find'.

Also a file and folder search for files names or file contents that contain "Nero".

Thanks, but I already tried that. It tells me "No Nero products detected or nothing selected for clean". Then the Windows 7 installer still tells me that I have to uninstall Nero Burning ROM. Any other ideas?
