2018-01-04T06:08:24+00:00 Hi Suzanne,
The error code 80244010 will occur if your Windows operating system already requested for Windows Update too many times. Since you've resetted your computer, your Windows 8.1 RT will request a huge amount of updates. This can be the reason why you're unable to update your copy of Windows 8.1 RT. We recommend that you scan for updates again to see if you'll be able to check for updates. If the issue persists, we suggest that you access this article. The link will provide you the steps that can usually resolve common Windows Update issue.

2017-11-06T01:17:10+00:00 I have done a factory reset on my Surface RT as it had become unresponsive and ran out of space on C: drive - I am now getting this error while attempting to apply updates. I have run the Windows Update Troubleshooter in administrator mode and automatically applied all of the recommended fixes.
Regards,
John

2017-12-11T05:54:50+00:00 I HAVE THE SAME ISSUE. I HAVE TRIED RESETTING MY WINDOWS SURFACE RT 8.1 REPEATEDLY BECAUSE IT WILL NOT UPDATE. I HAVE TRIED EVERY AVAILABLE SOLUTION THAT I CAN FIND, BUT ANY FIXES LISTED DO NOT WORK. X64, X86, NONE OF THEM WORK. I KEEP SEEING THE MESSAGE IN THE SOLUTIONS, "WINDOWS RT 8.1 FIXES MUST BE OBTAINED VIA WINDOWS UPDATE."
IF I COULD GET WINDOWS UPDATE TO WORK, WHY WOULD I BE ON HERE LOOKING FOR SOLUTIONS TO WINDOWS RT 8.1 UPDATE ERRORS?
