Internet Explorer trying to log into my Microsoft Account

Hi,

I have seen this issue raised a couple of times but not found an answer.

I have disabled Internet Explorer on my Windows 10 laptop. However, when I look at my Microsoft account session activity, every couple of days, there is an attempted sign-on from IE from my IP address. The sign on is unsuccessful as the password is incorrect.

I'm not overly concerned about this as I know  Windows uses elements of IE elsewhere but I have no clue what is trying to sign in.

Any idea folks?

Thanks,

Tim

    Hi Tim,

This issue might be caused by modified registry entries on your PC. For us to resolve the issue, we suggest that you enable Internet Explorer and reset the application. Follow these steps on how to reset Internet Explorer:

    1. On Internet Explorer, click the Tools icon and select Internet options.
    2. Go to the Advanced tab.
    3. Under Reset Internet Explorer settings, click Reset.

Note: Resetting Internet Explorer will delete all saved data and settings on the browser. We recommend that you back up your data before resetting the browser.

If you need further assistance, don't hesitate to reach out.
