Installation of Photoshop 7 Upgrade on new Windows 10 Computer

I have an upgrade version of Photoshop 7.0 and it will not begin installation on my Windows 10 computer. I believe I need to install my older version of Photoshop first and then install the upgrade, but the older version is Photoshop 4.0 which is too old to install on Windows 10. Is there a workaround?

Thank you.

Thats a really old version of Photoshop, from a bout 2002. I remember saving up to buy it.

I'm not sure you will be able to get it successfully running on Windows 10. Your options might be to install in a virtual machine on a compatible version of Windows. The last version of Windows I had it running on was Windows 8.1 with Update.

You can still try compatibility mode to see if that works:

I do have a virtual machine running Windows 7. I didn't think about that!  I will try compatibly Mode first and if no success, I will try it on the virtual Windows 7.

    Thank you so much!
