I recently had a virus and had it cleaned up, but now I get the performance options box popping up from time to time. No matter how many times I apply and press ok, it continues to pop up at start up and about 2 twice an hour.  Thinking some setting got change but not sure what exactly. Could use some  advise/help in fixing this.

    Hi Craig,

This can occur if there are software conflicts. To help you resolve the issue, we suggest following the steps below:

    1. On the search, type msconfig, select System Configurationfrom the list, then press Enter.

You might be prompter for the UAC credentials to continue. 2. Under the General tab, select Selective Startup then click to clear the Load Startup Items check box. 3. Click the Services tab, click to select the Hide All Microsoft Services check box, and then click Disable All. 4. Click OK then restart your computer.

You can also perform a clean boot to help eliminate software conflicts. Refer to this article on how to perform a clean boot.

Note: Refer to the Reset the computer to start normally after clean boot troubleshooting section to start your computer normally after the troubleshooting.

Get back to us with the outcome so we can help you out further.

    Anne,

That fixed the issue of the prompt screen popping up.

    Thank you,
