Yes, it will expire. You need to renew the license when it expires.
You can check the expriy date in Office 365 Admin Center. Admin Center>Billing>Subscriptions> it will show an expiry date. It looks like the following picture.

For our primary school we are trying to understand if the free licence of office 365 education has an expiry time or not.
As we have different answers around that, I kindly ask you to confirm if it is true or not.
