Hello,

I am a college student in Ireland. I have recently purchased a MacBook air to use for education purposes. I installed Windows 10 on the MacBook for free as I recognised the student offer on the Microsoft website. I have an issue regarding the activation code as my computer asks me to activate Windowsbut I did not receive an activation code. My question is can I get the activation code for free or will I have to pay?

When I read your question I got curious, I too am in Ireland and have children in College . . .

Here is the small print on that deal:

"In order to qualify, students need to be attending campuses that have purchased an organization-wide Volume Licensing Program. In some cases this product is not free. Price may vary by school and is subject to change without notice"

In order to check if you are eligible, click the link below:

    https://onthehub.com/download/free-software/win...

Then click 'Search for your School' and follow the on-screen prompts, sadly my children's college was not covered . . .

Could you link us where exactly on Microsoft's website you got Windows 10 for free? Because, I'm aware of significant discounts, but not totally free.

Onthehub does offer Windows 10 Education for free if your school is eligible:
