Copy and Replace StickyNotes.snt File for Sticky Notes Backup and Recovery

To backup sticky notes in Windows 10/8.1/8/7:

STEP 1. Type %AppData%\Microsoft\Sticky Notes in start menu search box (this is the sticky notes file location) and press Enter.

STEP 2. Copy StickyNotes.snt to anywhere you think it's safe, like an external hard drive or external drive.

    To restore sticky notes:

STEP 1. Type %AppData%\Microsoft\Sticky Notes in start menu search box or run and press Enter.

STEP 2. Copy the StickyNotes.snt file from your backup folder and paste it in the folder that opens.

on my new pc I type in what you say but it adds roaming after Microsoft and I did not put it in. The notes work when I use them on the new pc.  but I just can not do a search and find them. so I can not put the copied file there. ??

it did not find it.  I made two sticky notes so there would be something in a file.  But when I did what you suggested it did not find it. also, noted that it added roaming between Microsoft and sticky notes

%AppData%\Microsoft\Sticky Notes  I did not put roaming in

Again I am going from an older Windows 10 Pro      to a New Window 10 that is not a PRO

I did copy the file and I have it saved on my new laptop

    Thanks again  I

Well, Pro contains mostly business and power user features, but fundamentally, they are identical.
