Everything opens in full screen mode!

1st off there's no title bar, the X to close windows appears only when the pointer is at upper-most right of the screen. There is NO three boxes when

the X appears, either. I don't like that everything you open takes the whole screen, and using only one window at a time.

Even the START menu opens in full screen mode despite that settings/personalizing/start/start in full screen mode is OFF.

It's problem on my DESKTOP, and in settings/system/tablet mode both settings are off!

Nothing helps!

Anybody knows what to do?

    Hi Ted,

The issue that you’ve encountered regarding the display of the application window on your PC may be caused by some configuration or programs that prevent Windows from working properly. To sort out your concern, we’d like to know the following information:

    • Were there any changes that happened prior to the issue?
    • What troubleshooting steps have you done so far?
    • What is the make and model of your device?
    • Which version of Windows are you using?

Note: You may check the version of Windows that you are using by clickingStart, type Winver and press Enter.

Additionally, we suggest that you restart **Windows Explorer (or Explorer.exe)**from the Task Manager. This process will re-establish the good working status of the program that is currently running or running in the background. To do this, you may follow the steps below:

    1. Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete keys on your keyboard and select Task Manager.
    2. Click the More details button at the bottom part of the window.
    3. Find and select the Windows Explorer (or Explorer.exe) and click the Restart button.
    4. Once you’re done, you may check if the issue persists.

Keep us updated about your concern for additional assistance.

    Hi,

This issue with full screen can be caused by corrupted system files especially that the full screen mode/setting is turned off.

For us to better assist you, please answer the following questions:

    • When you say "no three boxes when the X appears", are you referring to a browser?
    • Are the default Windows apps also opening in a full screen mode?
    • What is the make and model of your device?
    • On which version of Windows 10 is your device running?

We'll keep an eye out for your response.
