To automatically avoid activation loop:(since activation is no longer available)

After trial period runs out(for new install),

When notifified that activation is neccessary to access windows XP:

1 Restart computer

2 Hold down F8 key to enter safemode menu

3 Choose safemode with command prompt

4 Cancel any new hardware install request

5 At prompt type in "explorer.exe"(minus quotes.), press yes in dialog box to continue in safe mode, your desktop should appear.

6 Press start to navigate to "all Programs" "accessories" "notepad"

7 Type in this command:  c:\windows\system32\rundll32.exe syssetup,SetupOobeBnK

8 Save as "activate.bat", to your desktop. Run batch file, then restart computer.

When the days get low just run the batch file and the the trial period is reset after restart.

Here's how it worked for me.

Reboot and the Reactivation dialog displays.

Choose the Internet method, then next.

When that fails a button labelled "Phone" is displayed.

Clicking on that displays the phone dialog with the missing installation ID.

    Then follow the 4 steps:-

    Select location

    Dial phone number

Enter ID numbers into the phone keypad.

Hear and write the new numbers.

    Enter them into the boxes.

    Voila!

My little trick seemed to have a snag.

In explorer.exe type this command to get the "run" box.

    c:\windows\system32\rundll32.exe shell32.dll,#61

Then, type in this command in the "run" box.

     rundll32.exe syssetup,SetupOobeBnK

This is the easiest way to reset the activation loop, restart the

computer and things should be well. If you send me your e-mail address to

******@yahoo.com, just put you name in capital letters with stars**** on each end

    ,in the subject line box,

I'll send you an OEM Product key that works over the phone, no charge.

If any thing else, use the file tab of explorer.exe to navigate around your computer, you most likely want to get to "MYCompter", then use the first command, in fileexplorer, this should open the "run" box.
