Screen got darker after latest update. Can't adjust it back to the correct settings.

So I just installed the latest windows 10 update (Feature update to Windows 10, version 1709) and my screen got a whole lot darker. Brightness is maxed out and none of the settings can change this back to the way it was.. Latest Nvidia Driver download also didn't help. What can solve this issue?

My monitor: LG 24MP68VQ-P.

Yes, I had this issue, it seems to be caused by messed up Color calibration. In order to fix it, right click on the desktop, click display settings, click "Display adapter properties", then "Color management" > Advanced tab > Calibrate display. Follow the prompts afterwards.

    Hello,

Open Device Manager, right click your display driver, select Uninstall. Click Action > Scan for hardware changes.

See if it helps, Good luck!

Does the same thing happen with another monitor plugged?

Is this a laptop? If so and you've used the hotkey on top row to brighten the screen, check also in Power Options (by right clicking Start button to get Power Menu), then Additional Power Options, then select your Power Plan (Balanced is default), Change Plan settings, check the Adjust Brightness sliders are all the way to the right.

If nothing else works and you've confirmed you have the latest Display driver from the PC or Adapter maker's Support Downlloads webpage, then try an older driver from that location or at Device Manager>Display adapter>Driver tab>Update Driver>Browse>Let Me Pick. If the list wasn't wiped out by version Upgrade then try previously installed drivers working backward.

Finally if nothing else works I would also pro-actively manually install the latest Fall Creators Version 1709 as this may solve problems. Install Media Creation Tool and choose Upgrade Now: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-10/m.... Optimize the install first from these steps: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/wiki...

But remember that a factory or Upgrade install are inferior installs that most enthusiasts would never run in the first place because they'd expect endless issues. Most prefer to do the gold standard Clean install from this link: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/wiki...

There is also an automated Windows 10 Refresh which reinstalls Windows while leaving out the factory bloatware that throttles Windows and causes endless issues, and lets you save your files. https://www.howtogeek.com/265054/how-to-easily-...

I hope this helps. Feel free to ask back any questions and let us know how it goes. I'll keep working with you until this is resolved.
