Computer Fan Speed Running Loud When Not In Use

Whenever my computer is not in use (but it is running) and my monitor goes to sleep, my computer's fan starts to run so loud. When I wake up the computer, by the time everything loads, the fan isn't loud anymore? I try to look at the task manager as fast as possible, but I am unable to see which process is causing the problem. I believe it's the process, system, that is causing it but I am unsure about it. Is there any way to fix this?

Thank you for the information. The noise created by the fans is a signal that the computer is working extra to cool down the system. Let's perform a clean boot to isolate if it's an application that's causing the issue or not. Let it sleep.

If it's still making noises, then it's not the applications installed on your computer. It may be a hardware limitation of the device already or a driver that needs to be updated or upgraded. Please go to the section "Reset the computer to start normally after clean boot troubleshooting" to boot the computer back to normal.

Update us after performing a clean boot. We'll keep an eye out for your reply.

    Hi,

When a desktop fan creates noises, it could be due to several factors. Accumulated dust, wires are hitting the fan's blade or the fan is adding heat causing the system to make an effort to cool the system. At this point, we'd like to ask the following to have a better understanding of the situation:

    • Are you using a desktop computer or a laptop?
    • To avoid repetition, can you provide us with all the troubleshooting steps that you've done so far?
    • Which version or build of Windows device are you using? To verify your Windows, press Windows + R to open the Run window. Type winver and press Enter. A new window will open showing the version and build number of your Windows device.
    • Were there any changes, recent updates, and newly installed applications on your device that may have affected your computer's behavior?
