Windows 10 is telling me I need to uninstall Trend Security 2009 to update to Windows v. 1709

I uninstalled the program many years ago (when I had the original Windows 7) and it look like somehow this problem migrated to Windows 10. In order to fix this problem, I ran CCleaner to fix the registry and after doing that, I found some traces of the program in the registry and I deleted it manually. But the problem persisted. I found in the community a link to download a tool from TMIS and I ran it, but still the same problem... Any help? Thanks in advance!

    Dear Andre,

I finally solved the problem by using a suggestion posted by ChristopheGB on Social TechNet. (Link as follows)

    https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/e007ae35-ba6c-48ab-8a28-da97a61c8de1/cant-install-windows-10-due-to-trend-micro-internet-security-2009?forum=win10itprosetup

In my case, Trend Micro Internet Security came as part of the original ASUS package along with Windows 7, and despite this program was uninstalled almost inmediatelly from my system, ASUS has a folder called "eSupport" where drivers and programs are located as a store for reinstallation. In my case, TMIS was located in "C:\eSupport\eDriver\Software\TRENDMICRO" I simply deleted the folder TRENDMICRO, and problem solved.

    Once again, thanks a lot.

No! I haven't upgrade manually yet! That's why I'm asking you to let me know the best option. The exe file or the ISO file.

    Thanks!

Are you saying, you get the error when you upgrading using the ISO file?

    Hi Andre,

Thanks for your soon reply. I already tried your suggestion but it didn't work.

Looks like there is no other chance than updating manually. Please let me know whether is possible to update by using the Windows10Upgrade9252.exe file instead of downloading and installing from the ISO. Some support about this issue is welcomed.

Note: Just for your information, my system is already running Windows 10 v.1703, the problem is that because of this Trend Micro issue, this time and for some unknown reason, it couldn't make the usual update by "Windows update".

    Press Windows key + R

    Type: msconfig

    Hit Enter

    Select the Services tab

    Hide all Microsoft Services

    The Disable all remaining services

Restart your computer then restart setup.

If that does not work, try using the ISO file to upgrade:
