what mp4 player can be used for xp?

need to upgrade and microsoft doesn't offer media player for xp anymore

    Thanks for the reply.  But, I did find a codec to add to Media Player and it works fine.

    With all due respect to Rick....

    VLC media player works fine with XPsp3.  Using it myself right now.

    My first pc (tower - 2002) ran XP - I still used it (offline!) up until about 2013 having switched to W7 in 2009 - so that was for best part of 11 years. It was a good OS. -  R.

    I take a trip down memory lane with XP only to prove that it can be used safely in this day and age.  Also it's a 'lotta fun :D

    Hi as XP is no longer supported you are unlikely to get any reliable advice here as we can no longer run  tests... in fact your Q is an invitation to spammers who may want to convince you to download a dodgy program!

    If you want to upgrade anything you should consider moving on from XP. Do not go directly to any links posted here.

    If your XP pc is in generally good shape consider mothballing it and use it to run older programs offline. (I have already done this with my Windows7 PC) Treat yourself to a new laptop that is safe to run in an online environment.
