Whenever I search from start menu for Notepad this file 'drive.txt' appears in recent but the file no longer exists

After clicking remove from the list it appears again when I search for Notepad again

How can I permanently remove it?

Thank you again for your reply

I was on vacation  and only get to have a glimpse at my laptop just now

And to my surprise the list does not appear anymore when I performed start menu app searching for notepad, guess the indexing is now updated!

    Happy holidays, cheers!

    Hello Andrew,

It is possible that the Indexing Service did not update, hence the deleted file is still showing in Cortana search. To assist you with your concern, we suggest to rebuild the indexed locations of your computer to resolve the issue. Here's how:

    1. Hit the Windows key and type Indexing Options in Search and hit Enter.
    2. In the Indexing Options window, click Advanced.
    3. Click-on the Rebuild button.
    4. Once it is done, reboot the computer if necessary.

Note: This process may take a while depending on the files that you have on your computer.

Let us know how it goes.

    Regards.

I use Windows key + R, then notepad. The problem does not appear there.
