    Bill,

I know this is an old thread but when you are incorrect, someone needs to mention it. Just because a manufacture says a PC is not supported by them doesn't mean it can't run it.

Case in point I had an old Dell Latitude D630 which only supported up to Windows XP on it, but it ran perfectly fine with Windows 7.

    Hi,

There is a difference between the machine being Win 7 capable, and the manufacturer actually supporting Win 7...

Because the manufacturer does not furnish Win 7 drivers and etc., does not mean they are not available through Windows Update, or the hardware's manufacturer...

If your BIOS is set for RAID, the windows installation will prompt for drivers, whether you are using RAID or not... Regardless of the Windows version being installed...

    Hi,

This is for your SATA Storage and RAID...

Make sure your SATA settings are set for AHCI in BIOS...

Also make sure it is NOT set for RAID...

There is no point worrying about SATA settings if your machine does not support installing Windows 7 to it.

    Regards.
