Art, BrowserCore.exe is a core component of Windows 10 and it serves as a browser add-on that allows Microsoft users to connect via Azure and Microsoft websites.

It is digitally signed by our Company and is required for Windows 10 and its dependencies. If this has become corrupted or infected with a virus, then it needs to be replaced.

Is anything like that happening? We'll be waiting for your response.

    Hi Art,

If you're wondering if you can delete those files stored in the WinSxs folder to regain some disk space, the answer is no. WinSxs folder is  the location for Windows Component Store files. The Windows Component Store is used to support the functions needed for the customization and updating of Windows.

Are you having performance issues too when the files in questions are running? If yes, we suggest that you refer to this thread first for checks and workarounds that you could also perform to improve your PC performance.

    Hello

I have two BrowserCore.exe's in my system.

According to their properties locations listed below.

    1. Located C:\Program Files\Windows Security\BrowserCore
    2. Located C:\Windows\WinSxS\amd64_microsoft-windows-security-browsercore_31bf3856ad364e35_10.0.16299.15_none_7db9facf6fa3c88a

Both modified on the same date and time and both have same file and product versions # 10.0.16299.15.

    Very high CPU when running.

Appreciate any information you can offer.

    Thank you

    Art
