How to Report Windows Defender SmartScreen False Detections?

I own a website <Website removed by Moderator> which is running on a patched and secure OS and an equally patched and secured CMS.

It is used and trusted by many users and is a safe place to visit.

Given the above, why is the Windows Defender Smart Screen in Edge Browser reporting that it is a dangerous website in a huge red box and telling people to avoid it?

Also it would appear that Macintosh users who don't use Microsoft products are kicked in the teeth again because you are required to report websites that have been classified falsely as a threat via the Edge browser which is displaying the false message.

I have tried to contact Microsoft Support over the phone and I gave up after 30 minutes of being on hold.

What exactly do I do now to rectify this issue?

I am not able to use the 'reported as unsafe' feature to report a false detection because it requires that I am using the Edge browser in Windows 10 with Windows Defender Smart Screen enabled. I'm a Mac user so I would like to know how I report this without being forced to have Windows, Edge and Windows Defender.

You could probably find an updated Windows 10 PC to file the report on. It’s really not a rare bird. But since you obviously also need to address a malware detection issue, why don’t you use the link that I provided for that:

Hopefully there's an open channel between these two Microsoft units that will allow them to resolve the issue; or not, depending on the outcome of their investigation.

For “reported as unsafe” status: Report that this site does not contain threats

    For false malware detections:

VirusTotal URL scan indicates there are some issues with your site.

Keep in mind this is a peer-peer support forum and your issues can;t  be properly addressed here.

Obviously I have no idea which Microsoft channel you tried to contact but suggest you may wish to continue trying.

You may get additional response (s) here from other community members which may provide some guidance but I will also Escalate this to Microsoft  Moderators.

The report from the VirusTotal scan that you have provided indicates that a virus was found in 2016 which would be when the domain name was owned by somebody else. The scan seems to refuse to update its records to reflect the state of the website now under my ownership.
