Today, December 19th, 2017, Microsoft reversed their idiotic move from November 24, 2017 that depreciated the driver for ATI Radeon HD2400XT Dual monitor display adapter.
After an update started, I left that computer for a while as I did other things. In about an hour, I returned to the single monitor in LoRes mode just like when the ATI driver was uninstalled and the Windows Basic Video Driver installed in it's place. I did not know what to expect this time, but I went to the Display Settings and set the resolution back to the maximum and tried to detect additional monitors, which were not found.
So I went to the Device Manager and it still showed the MS Driver. I did a right click and did a scan - noting changed, so I started the search for an updated video driver. This time the search came up with the HD2400XT driver and installed it. Now the Device Manage showed the proper card and the original driver from 2013 that had been there before.
Now, the 2nd monitor was detected and I started reseting my "new" monitor to what it had been for years through XP, Win 7 and Win 10 (all versions). Life is good till MS decides to make another bone head change without notice.

Sorry. The solution did not work.
Also tried out in safe mode deleted the driver and reinstalled it but no improvement.
Tried out all the techniques and tricks as available on the net but no success.
Also reduced the refresh rate and reduced the resolution but no success.
I am determined not to replace the video card and will keep trying and would appreciate any suggestions to rectify this.
This morning as every morning when I started the computer, it boots up and mid way when the win10 logo is about to come, one of the monitors(the primary one)drops off and goes into power save mode with the other in blue and after some time I get the watchdog message with TDR VIDEO failure.
This is after the update only.I currently have"2017-10 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1703 for x64-based Systems (KB4041676)" & "2017-10 Security Update for Adobe Flash Player for Windows 10 Version 1703 for x64-based Systems (KB4049179)"as the latest update downloaded.
Well would appreciate a helpful and resolvable assistance and solution.
