MS assigns Office based on the name of the PC. If I changed the name of the PC and MS still shows it under the manufacturer's id, is there a way for me to find that id after I've changed the PC name?

    This should be no different then if your old machine name died and you activated Office on a new computer. In other words, just log into your MS Account --> deactivate the old machine name --> activate Office again at which point it should pick up the new machine name
