Windows 7 - video editing software?

I have windows 7 professional.  I do not have movie maker installed. Why? I don't know.  Anyway, what can be installed on my system to edit movies/videos?

    Although Windows Essentials (which includes Movie Maker) is not supported (won't get any updates) anymore, you still can download the offline installer. During the installation you can choose which programs you want to install.
