Hello, I have also tried both antivirus, Windows Defender and Kaspersky Free Antivirus. I recommend Kaspersky Free for powerful computers, or mid-range. In any case, it should not under any circumstances install two antivirus, because it would cancel them.
Kaspersky free vs Windows Defender anti-virus
Hi,
I don't know if someone else asked this same question or not ( I did in fact perform a search ), has anyone else tried out the free version of Kaspersky anti virus software ? I installed it on the laptop I'm typing this on, I know there's been quite of bit of chatter lately about the Russians interfering in some thing. But the fact remains that Kaspersky is known for their security product's.
Thanks,
David

There are still some things Defender doesn't catch that others will. Since Windows 10 1607, you can install a third party AV and have it co-exist with Defender.
Not true Andre; your referenced article needs to be updated.
Thanks.

I prefer Defender than all other AVs(Its been a while since I used any 3rd party AV). Additionally, I use Malwarebytes Free to get a layer of extra security if it matters. You can read:

2017-12-29T12:33:17+00:00 Hi Youyou_406,
For a short period of time I had tried the kaspersky free antivirus, but after reading quite a bit of negative feedback about it, I went back to the built-in protection already included with Windows 10, if Windows Defender is setup properly, I find it to be a very good product.
