AMD Ryzen 5 1600 only supports Windows 1 0. In case that you used AMD Ryzen 5 for other versions of Windows Operating System (Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1), all upcoming Windows Updates will be forcibly closed or blocked. If you can, we strongly recommend upgrading to Windows 10 because all of the latest processors are fully optimized for Windows 10.

Should you have more concerns, feel free to post.

    Hi Michel,

It depends on your CPU. If you are using **7th Generation Intel Processors (Kaby Lake)**or later, you will not be able to fully utilize Windows 8.1 as it is designed for Windows 10. Same goes with the new AMD Ryzen CPUs. If you're not using these processors and you're unable to update your PC using the automatic update, you can use Window 8.1 Upgrade Assistant. You can download it by clicking **here**. If you still encounter issues installing the latest update for Windows 8.1, you can install it manually by downloading the update on Microsoft Update Catalog page.

If you have more questions, feel free to ask.

    Regards.

May we know the specifications of your PC specially your processor? Error 0x 80240037 means that your PC is not compatible with the lower versions of Windows. This usually happens on 7th and 8th generation Intel processors, Ryzen processors, and AMD Bristol processors. Since you are using AM4 socket, you're probably using AMD Bristol Ridge.

We'll be looking forward for your reply.
