    seahawk65,

You may have all the experience you claim, but your vocabulary is imprecise. This PC is a virtual folder within the shell namespace.

    Introduction to the Shell Namespace

The entire text of the OP was:

I have 1 terabyte of disk space available on my laptop and only 119 gigabytes available for storage in the "This PC" area. I need more storage for downloads.

    And then:

Thank you for the help, but I know what is taking up and where it is. I just need to move them into the local disk space!

Which is also vague in its wording. You translated it to:

"This obvious clue is in This PC where it shows 119GB left of 931GB on system drive C:"

But the OP wants to move them to "the local disk."

If all your assumptions are correct, congratulations. But Jim was right to ask for clarification.

    Keith

LOL, OK Keith. Who said anything about the file structure "OBJECTS" This was about "LOCATIONS" >>BIG DIFFERENCE<< You are not telling me anything about file structure, namespaces, objects, containers or locations. You and your blah blah BS he is right there is no This PC Location. This gets more funnier by the minute. The Key word here is (">>LOCATION<<").

Peter piper wants to access his C::\ drive quickly, so he opened up the THIS PC LOCATION to access C:\ drive.

Your freaking desktop that holds everything is, I believe, is a namespace, if I remember correctly form years ago.

LOL clarification of the original post that in This PC\C:\  it shows him 119GB free of 931GB. Any .... could see that 931GB is the full size of the 1TB drive with 199Gb left. Therefore there is no other large partition if C:\ is 932GB size. So why would any .... need to look in disk management. This is f...ing hilarious.

The guy was confused that he seen his C:\ drive when he opened This PC and he thought his C:\ drive was a different storage area than This PC. I understood his confusing along with the f  ing obvious that his 1TB HD had only 1 large Partition and probably 2 others, EFI and win recovery which are each about 250mb. So any knowledgeable person with any real hands on experience would have caught that right away. Then the guy even told jimmy that he knows where the storage being taken was, DUH, he said it was 1 huge folder with massive downloads. Probably videos or something. It was all so elementary and Jimmy had to act like he needed his comp management screen shot to diagnose and that is the f...ing most hilarious part of it.

Then the real funny funny part, is what he posted is what every user experiences everyday, they have a drive with a size, and when it fills up they need to A. Move data to another storage device. or B. delete data. or C. do a disk clean up. It was not a tech question to begin with and required no SS of disk management with an experienced knowledge person. Spat all the poo you want. I have never seen people on other Windows forums with such .........

And Jimmy was arguing with me and the OP about This PC to access C:\ drive DID NOT EXIST. LOLOLOLOLOL.

There is no "This PC area" on the hard drive.  Please open Disk Management (Windows key + x), take a screenshot, and post it here.

Yes there is. In Windows 10, "This PC" icon is the same as the old My PC or Computer Icon. When you open This PC, that is where all your hard drives appear and to access.

So to the person posting this, If you want to increase free space on your 1 terabyte hard drive to more than 119 gigabytes free space left, then you have to move some data to another EXTERNAL LOCATION. Such as; Another Hard Drive, other PC's Public folders on your home network, DVD, Blue Ray, USB Stick, Cloud storage, etc.

This PC is just for you to access where data is stored, such as Drive C:\ your system drive or other storage devices or drives you have connected to your PC

If you aren't sure where all the space is being used, try a program like WinDirStat or Space Monger, which will show you what's taking up space, and where.
