I have the same problem, but it's selective on the application. I can do it in the browser (like right now) but when I try different apps, it won't work. I'll see the swipe trail on the keyboard, but no text prediction or anything is produced. Even manual typing won't produce predictions.

This is obviously a software bug that needs to be addressed. I don't mind if the keyboard is tiny, it makes swipping much easier, but this keyboard needs to be addressed.

I want to love this keyboard, and I praise to my friends house Surface it's awesome, but Google has got you beat. You need to open up development to using on screen 3rd party keyboards or something, because user input should be secondary to the user and not something we must adapt to.

    Hi,

Thank you for sharing the results with us. We tried to recreate the issue and found something interesting. The issue may be caused by missing files for a specific language. Follow the steps below to troubleshoot the issue:

    1. Go to Settings > Click Time & Language.
    2. On the left panel, select Region & language.
    3. Under Languages, click the language that is set > Hit Options.
    4. Under Keyboards check if your preferred language appears, if not, Select Add a keyboard then choose the language you want to add.
    5. Once you've added a keyboard, check if under Language options a download option would appear for Basic Typing, Handwriting, and Speech. If so, hit Download then wait for it to be installed.
    6. Check if a notification would appear in the notification center.
    7. Check if the issue has been addressed.

Note: Not all languages offer handwriting options. Regarding your concern, we recommend and encourage that you submit your issue using the Feedback Hub. You can either vote on an existing submission or submit a new issue. 4. Important: If possible, reproduce the problem(s) after clicking Begin monitoring (or Start capture) near the end of the form; Stop monitoring when you’re done.
    5. Once you’ve completed the form and monitoring, click Submit.

I am using a Surface Pro 4.  I do not receive an error message.

The setting you have indicated is already activated.

My Windows 10 is up to date.

As I stated, the swipe detail (the line trailing my finger) is working but it is not offering words based on my swipes.  I have used the swipe feature on Windows Mobile thus am familiar with it.
