    Hi Bob,

Ctfmon or CTF Loader or a Microsoft process that controls Alternative User Input and the Office Language bar. It's how you can control the computer via speech or a pen tablet, or using the onscreen keyboard inputs for Asian languages. To shut it down, disable the Touch Keyboard and Handwriting Panel Service from Services.

    Here's how:

    1. Press Windows+R, type services.msc, and then click OK.
    2. Scroll through the list, right-click on Touch Keyboard and Handwriting Panel Service, and then select Stop.

To enable it, do the same steps but select Start.

Should you need further assistance, let me know.

Please note, this is NOT a correct answer. On latest windows 10 pro, the ctf loader persists after this procedure. Please revise and renew your response, want to get rid of all Win process that are not used by ME. Thanks!

Andrew,  thank you for your prompt reply.  However, I have the same problem stopping this as I had following Patricia Yu's advice  (her advice took me to the same place as your advice)..  When I click "Stop the service", I get 2 pop ups.  The first, "Windows attempting to stop".  The second, "Windows could not stop TK & HPS.  The service did not return an error . . .".   So I cannot stop it.  I don't use speech, I don't use handwriting.    Bill
