Event Viewer error IDs 10016 and 10010

I believe I performed a clean install of Windows 10 on 9 Jan 2018, by booting my PC from a Windows 10 installation disc which I created from a Windows 10 iso using ImgBurn. I hoped this would cure all the errors shown in Event Viewer. But it didn't and exactly the same error ID numbers are still present!

As usual I tried to find solutions to fix the DistributedCOM error IDs 10016 and 10010 by searching the internet. I found one solution offered by Microsoft answers which told me to run regedit as administrator and look for HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT and something like CLSID ..... and then to change permissions to ? But I just could not find the CLSID file they cited so that I could change permissions to whatever they said to change them to. Sorry I can't remember the solution verbatim but I cannot find it again after reinstalling my OS!

Can anyone give me more explicit instructions on how to fix these two DistributedCOM errors please?

I just built a new computer and i get error code 10016 & 10010. It makes my computer crash and restart.

I have done a clean install of windows a second time. Got rid of the partitions and everything.  Still get the same error. After over 4 hours of Microsoft Tech Support they say its my hardware...

im feeling betrayed, they refuse to look into this, they troubleshoot everything up to the actual error and then blame the hardware manurfacturers.

Thank you very much for your reply and the link to your Microsoft article, from which I now know that I did NOT perform a Clean Install properly :-/ I didn't disconnect all external drives and devices. And I didn't delete all Disk 0 partitions because I was too scared to do so! Instead I just formatted the system drive :-/ So it's no wonder it didn't work!

I MIGHT try and do it again following the instructions in the link, when I can face all the hassle. But I can't face it right now, even if it would give me a better system with no errors in the Event logs.

Hi Sherry. I'm Greg, a volunteer installation specialist and 8 year Windows MVP, here to help you.

    Those fixes are here: https://www.tenforums.com/performance-maintenan...

But it's strange that you'd get the one which is an artifact of doing an Upgrade, if you correctly Clean Installed which always includes to delete all partitions down to Unallocated Space to get it cleanest. Did you follow the steps in this guide which compiles the best possible Clean Install of Windows which will stay that way as long as you stick with the tools and methods given, has zero reported problems, and is better than any amount of money could buy: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/wiki...

The reason I ask is that no one whose completed that specific install has ever come back with such complaints, and certainly not ones that result from an Upgrade.

So you might want to consider doing it over if the fixes in the thread above don't resolve it.

I hope this helps. Feel free to ask back any questions and let us know how it goes. I will keep working with you until it's resolved.
