Windows Update Error 0x80070020 when trying to install KB4056892.

I got this error ever since I tried to install the latest update for Build 16299. It fails. It gets stuck at 47% after restart (30%) and then says We couldn't finish installing the updates. Undoing changes multiple times. Then it tries again and again without results. I tried everything besides the in-place and clean install methods, still doesn't work. After using DISM and sfc to restore the system it went to 35% then to 100% and "installed" the update. The build number still says 16299.125, not 16299.192 after the supposedly "successful" update. Now its downloading the update again.

Ok I will try with the clean boot method. However, I use Windows Defender and I have already tried using the troubleshooter. It does not help.

    This is getting really annoying.

Updates again failed today, with the new KB4058258.

This time its stuck at 43%, again - error 0x80070020.

Like what? How am I supposed to know what program causes the update to fail to install?

I used to look forward to Windows 10 updates, now they are getting annoying as the computer has to reboot several times to undo the changes before it is even usable.

    Absolutely unacceptable.

Very annoying to go into clean boot just to install a minor cumulative update.

    Thank you for the information.

If that's the case, we suggest manually install KB4056892 update using Microsoft Update Catalog and see if you'll get the same error code.

Note: Make sure to install the right version of the update(x64-based Systems or x86-based Systems)

It has something to do with drivers.

I upgraded to Pro at the same time as this update was coming in and it would not update even after a "Fresh Start"... I had to use the USB installer and upgrade from scratch--keeping the files of course. Gotta ditch all drivers and old updates though.
