The screen does not respond to any touches.  Have updated Windows, attempted to update Driver but cannot locate correct file.

There are many models of the Inspiron 5000.

What is the exact make and model?

    Open Start, type: system information

    Hit Enter

    Click System summary

Copy the system sku into reply here.

Wipe it off with a soft, clean cloth. Use a microfiber cloth if possible.

Select the Start button, then type Calibrate the screen for pen or touch input in the search box on taskbar and then choose the top result. Select the Setup button and follow the instructions.

Type Device manager in the search box on taskbar and then choose the top result. Select Monitors and press-and-hold (or right click) on the name of your monitor. If one of the menu items is enable, choose that.

Repeat step four and then choose Update driver software from the right-click menu.

You might need to get a new driver. Head to this page to automatically detect and install the missing driver:

Hi JenOP, I am Rob, a volunteer and a 10 time and dual award MVP specializing in Windows troubleshooting and Bluescreen analysis. Please remember as volunteers we are not responsible for the development of Windows or the computer hardware and drivers.

Look for the "Firmware" update under the "Category" box drop down.

Check for your exact model and then Windows Version
