sort files numerically withi a folder

Hi there...search as I may, I am unable to find solution to not being able to sort files numerically within a folder. I place the files (PDF) in folder for storage from an accounting software. I would like them to be sorted numerically, they end up in the column in disorder. Have gone to "view", sort by, and see no numerical tab. How do I have files sorted numerically, automatically, as they are placed in the folder?

Thanks Scott...

    Hi folks,

I am unable to sort numerically within Outlook folders (and subfolders).  Accessing the alpha sort only works for single digits (ie 1-9).  It is unable to sort through double digits and beyond so it reads 10, 11, 12 as 1.

    Any workarounds?

    Cynthia

Hi Dunrite, do you mean the files are named:

    invoice 00075.pdf

    invoice 00076.pdf

    invoice 00077.pdf

    . . . etc

In Windows File Explorer, on the view Ribbon if you select 'Details' view in Layout.

Then click on the top of the Name Column, are the files out of order?

If so, can you please give an example of a file name that is out of order

Hi there thanks for quick reply...the files are stored in PDF form, from "Freshbooks Accounting", numerically designated as "invoice 00075, 00074, 00073. In the accounting software they're in numerical order. When placed in storage folder some are out of order...can't seem to highlight and move to correct placement within column. Though I can highlight a "Folder" and move with bar underneath for placement wherever I choose...hope this clear...Scott
