Windows 10 wifi keeps disconnecting and I have to manually re-connect

Sometimes it says "connected, no internet"

I wouldn't pay much attention to this issue if it wasn't so frequent.

Sometimes I can go hours without wifi disconnecting once, but sometimes it happens many times within 15 minutes.

Once during I wrote this question.

My laptop has this issue, not my other win 10 devices connected to same wifi.

My tablet, if I remember correctly, also had some trouble with wifi in the past.

Before you give me a link to some 2016 solved issue, realize that OS changes have rendered those instructions useless.

1.Click Start, type ncpa.cpl, and then hit Enter.

2.Right-click your wireless network connection, and then click Properties.

 3.Click the Wireless Networks tab.

4.Under Preferred networks, click your wireless network, and then clickRemove.

 5.Click View Wireless Networks.

6.Under Network Tasks, click Refresh Network List.

7.Under Choose a wireless network, click the wireless network to which you want to connect, and then click Connect.

I wish there were any of these tabs or any of these options available in the properties of my wifi network connection. The closest to doing any of this you can get is "unintall your wireless network adapter".

EDIT: I was unable to follow through the instructions I pasted above, but followed the rest of the instructions given in:

https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows\_10-networking-winpc/windows-10-wifi-connection-issues/4f3bebb9-331f-47cf-b6af-da780fdea03f?auth=1

and they didn't change anything.

    Hi Kalle,

This may be caused by an outdated network driver. We have a thread that basically tackles an issue similar as yours. Please check Can't connect Windows 10 laptop to mobile hot spot. You may follow the resolution suggested by Radney Dri.

For further troubleshooting reference also check Fix network connection issues in Windows 10 and perform the troubleshooting steps on the article.

Feel free to post back should you need further help.

Sorry it took me so long to answer. My laptop is always plugged. Clearing that check was one of the first things I tried. I am using my phone as a WI-FI hotspot.

Unlike my laptop, my win 10 tablet computer miix 2 8 stays connected to the same wi-fi 24/7 without failure. My other laptop I no longer use (win 7) had no wi-fi issues.

While in Device Manager, Network adapter did you look at Power Management?

If not do so and clear the check on Allow this computer to turn off this device to save power?

    It may help.

Also are you using a modem, router, or other?

Are you on the battery when it happens often?
