Since last week Switching between applications and windows is super-slow (win 10, surface book)

When using alt-tab or taskbar to go to another window, there is a several seconds delay!

The problem started earlier this week, likely after a windows update.

    Thank you for responding. You may refer to the troubleshooting suggestions below in order to resolve the slow switching of apps issue.

    First, you may perform a clean boot. This is to begin Windows using limited set of drivers and startup programs which would help in eliminating software conflicts. Please refer to this support link in order to do this correctly.

    After doing a clean boot, perform a Disk cleanup. This is to delete temporary files which may be causing the slow switching behavior of your applications. Click this link to be guided in doing this method.

    It's version 1703 (OS Build 15063.850)

    No troubleshooting attempted other than restart.

    Hi Marina,

    In order to help you with the slow switching between application issue, kindly answer the following questions first:

    • What is the current Version and Build of your Windows 10 PC? To know these information, follow these steps:
    1. Press Windows key + R on your keyboard.
    2. Once the Run box pops out, type Winver.
    3. Press Enter.
    4. A small windows will appear, look for the Windows Build and Version.

    (You may have pending updates in your Windows 10 computer. Please refer to this support link to update your computer as well as to know the Windows 10 update history.)

    • What troubleshooting steps have you taken so far?
