I get the following error message when I am logged into my browser.

I need to disable it and stop it from appearing.  How do I do that?

Yes it is blue.  I do not want to install it.  There are too many people reporting issues after the install, plus I'm not happy with Microsoft's lack of response about this (also the lack of information about it).   I just want to turn off the alert (and not install the update).  Any ideas or thoughts on where I should turn to get an answer from Microsoft?

I have seen a lot of people that have had trouble with the updates, so I don't need any more issues now than I already have (especially at this time of year).  I think the reason that you have to "pay" to talk to the company tells me a lot, so I want to stay away from changing what is working as best as I can and avoid even more annoyance.  I wouldn't mind making the updates if I knew that there was someone readily available to help me through the issues that the update causes....but that's not the case.

    Thanks for the instructions.

When you first saw this, was it blue? That's what I saw to install the Fall Creators Update.

Check Windows Updates and see if it wants you to restart.

Click Remind me tomorrow, then do the following:

Use the Show/Hide Updates tool to block it:

Is there an option or work around to block updates or hardware drivers that might cause problems?

Yes, Microsoft has released a KB update (KB3073930) that will let users block or hide Windows or driver updates.

You can download it at the following link:

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3073930

After downloading, launch it, click Next, wait while it detects pending Windows Updates.

    Click the Hide Updates menu.

Scroll through the list then select then select the update. Check the box next to the update then click Next to confirm changes.
