Internet Explorer Upgrade or Installation of a New Browser

I have an ASUS Tablet with an attached docking keyboard, running Microsoft 8.1RT.  Several applications are telling me that the current Explorer 11, that I am running will not be supported after February 1, 2018.  I have been tying to upgrade, following the instructions given to me, but I continually get the message, THIS SYSTEM DOES NOT SUPPORT THE APPS.  Go to the APPS Store.  Well the Apps Store does not have any of the common Browsers? 

I need to know how to get a new BROWSER for my Microsoft 8.1RT and a detail set of instructions, as to how I delete 11 and move onto a new and improved Browser.

Can anyone help?

    With Windows RT you cannot run another browser but Internet Explorer. This has been the problem with RT version and why it did not last long in the market. My advice is start looking for something to replace that device that runs a full Windows OS and stay away from Windows 10S because again you will be locked to a Microsoft browser. Since your running Windows 8.1 and you have no path to Windows 10 because your version is RT. You cannot even install Microsoft's new browser Edge on 8.1 RT. With that device, you have no options for adding a more modern browser.

    Hi,

    Internet Explorer 11 is the latest and last version of it. Since it is a default installed app of Windows, you cannot uninstall it although you can disable Internet Explorer if you don't want to use it. Follow the steps provided in this article on how to disable Internet Explorer. As for a new browser, you can search the web and download other third-party browsers. However, make sure you only download from trusted websites as third-party apps can present risks and malwares on your computer.

    Google and Firefox have not developed an app for their browsers for the RT.

    Maybe it is time to refresh your RT installation

    why cant I install firefox or google chorme on my windows rt surface   IE crashes every 5 min...
