Updating Internet Explorer version in Windows 10

Hi,

Recently we are experiencing an issue with IE version 11.850.15063.0 and 11.674.15063.0 where it keeps crashing upon performing a action on an application (SAP), our application vendor has advise to try and upgrade the IE version to the latest to see whether it resolves the issue encountered.

How to upgrade the IE version? As in Windows 10 there is no 'update file' type downloads for IE 11, and upon clicking on settings -> check for updates, it keeps showing that the device is already up to date.

Could you share how to directly upgrade the device IE version in Windows 10 in order to determine whether the advise solution works?

Thank you.

If your windows 10 version is current and up to date, you should have the latest IE version.

    I'm on windows 10 Home right now;

Your 15063 indicates your are not updated to the current version of windows. 16299 fall creators edition.

    Hi,

While there is no option to manually download the update for IE10, you can make sure that you will get the latest update by checking the option Install new versions automatically.

To do so, here are the steps:

    1. Launch your IE browser.
    2. Click on the gear icon on the top right corner of the page.
    3. Click on About Internet Explorer.
    4. Put a check mark on the box that says Install new versions automatically.
    5. Click Close.

The latest IE  update should come with the latest update for Windows. Please try the above and if you need any other help, please get back to us. Kindly include the OS build and version of your PC when you do.

    Regards.

Hi, thanks for your replies, but i fail to find the 'box' you mention in my IE, even in admin mode, could you advise further on how to enable that feature? Thank you. Attached screen shot below:

    Control Panel\All Control Panel Items

    Internet options

First in General tab, delete all your browsing history, excluding your auto fill forms and passwords, uncheck Preserve favorites website data when deleting them.

Now Advanced Tab, Reset it, restart pc, go back and set your personal preferences. It should be fixed. If not, good luck.

IE 11 is no longer being developed. There are no more updates. There will only be security fixes.
