Deleting Hidden Folders

My "Documents" folder contains 3 hidden folders - "My Music", "My Pictures" and "My Videos".  I use a batch file to backup my documents, but it gets to a point and says Access denied and that it can't create a My Music folder on the backup drive.  It then doesn't continue backing up my "Documents".

How can I delete these hidden folders so I can backup all my documents?

    Open the backup drive.

    Click View tab

    Check the box 'Hidden items'

If you see a 'My Music' folder there, delete it.

I did as you said, but there was no "My Music" folder displayed.  On my C: I also can't see the hidden folders, even when I check the box "Hidden items".  I need to be able to delete the hidden folders on my C: so that my batch file runs all the way through all my sub-directories.

Hidden files should not be deleted on a whim.

When you suggested deleting any hidden files I concluded you were referring to existing files/folders on the external drive, not the local drive.

Have you tried using Robocopy to backup the files to the drive?

I have just tried your suggestion, but I still get the message:

    Access denied

Unable to create directory - G:\documents\My Music

How can I delete these hidden files from my C: drive?

Did you try right clicking the batch file then click 'Run as administrator' to give it full permission?
