Samsung Kies vs Windows 10

I can successfully download Kies to Windows 10 but Kies does not recognize my Galaxy S7 when connected to my computer. This was never a problem when I had the Galaxy S5. I use Kies to transfer music files from iTunes to my SD card and to manage photos. I spent hours on the phone with the Samsung help line and no joy. There is a work around but I want Kies again.

You should be able to just connect your phone using the USB cable.

Touch and drag the Notification bar done

    Tap 'Connected as camera'

    Tap Media Device (MTP) mode

This will let you import your pictures using the following instructions

    If that does not work:

Install Smart Switch from Samsung. https://www.samsung.com/global/download/smartsw...

It will be also your tool to transfer files from Phone to Windows.

Samsung Kies does not support the Samsung Galaxy S7 or later. Samsung wants users to use the Smart Switch software instead.

Thank you for your prompt reply. I did tap the MTP mode on my phone. The phone was connected to the computer via USB cable. No luck.

Maybe I do not understand Smart Switch. I did install it first and it just backed up all my files from my phone to my computer. I did not see where I could manage to transfer music files from my computer onto my SD card on my phone.
