I got the same issue, the screen went black and back to normal, latest driver has been updated. My graphic card is Gigabyte Rx460 2Gb, latest firmware. Mainboard Gigabyte AX370 Gaming K3, Ryzen 1700, DDR4 16Gb 2400 and Windows 1709 latest build. This bug has been really annoying me, I have spent over 1 weeks to identify the problem but couldn't fixed it. it might be the Windows or Drivers issue. The current Windows is fresh install without any tweak or change.

I did follow the Troubleshoot in the Update setting but it just says Troubleshooting couldn't identify the problem.

    Hi Anthony,

Sometimes even newly-bought hardware can be faulty and affect your computer's performance. Have you checked if this error happens when using a different video adapter?

As an initial recommendation, we suggest that you use the Hardware and Devices Troubleshooter, which is a built-in troubleshooter specifically built to find and fix common hardware issues. To do this, follow these steps:

    1. Click Start.
    2. Go to Settings.
    3. Click Update & Security.
    4. Click Troubleshoot.
    5. Click Hardware & Devices from the list.
    6. Click Run the troubleshooter.

Additionally, this may also be happening due to outdated drivers. Follow the steps in this article to update your drivers, then check if the issue persists.

Let us know if the error disappears after following these steps.

We appreciate the information you provided. Which application is still being affected? Since you mentioned that other apps are now running properly, it's possible that this error is caused by compatibility issues. Additionally, when the app crashed, did you get any specific error messages? If yes, please post a screenshot so that we could provide the proper resolution. And just to confirm, have you already tried to check if this still happens when using a different video adapter?

While we're analyzing the crash log, we suggest that you perform a clean boot. You can follow the steps in this article to do it. This will load Windows with minimal drivers and programs, preventing software conflicts from occurring. If the app doesn't crash when you run it in a clean boot environment, check the section How to determine what is causing the problem after you do a clean boot for what to do next.

Note: To return your computer back to normal, check the section Reset the computer to start normally after clean boot troubleshooting.

We look forward to your reply and the results of the troubleshooting.

    Hello Yolvi Ell,

I reinstalled the latest drivers (clean uninstall and reinstallation in Safe mode) and, for good measure, I ran the troubleshooter and only one other application has crashed since then. Here's the crash log from that event: https://pastebin.com/s3ygxWsK

I don't know if it's related to my original issue, but perhaps you could determine this.

    Thank you in advance.
