MGADiag tool says Validation Unsupported OS

Hi,

Some person is auditing if my system has a genuine windows 10 or not. I'm pretty sure that it is a genuine version that came preloaded with my machine but the mentioned person keeps using this 'MGADiag' tool to check if the OS is valid or not.

I'm using Windows 10 and I always see Validation unsupported OS instead of Genuine.

I tried searching a lot for this tool for windows 10 but only found the ones for windows 7.

Can someone please provide me a link to the version of this tool that windows 10 supports?

Yes, it's clearly activated.

What's happened is it's taken the embedded Product Key in BIOS and added a Digital License in MS Activation servers so it should auto-reactivate if you ever reinstall or change out hardware up to the motherboard which will lose the license if replaced.

This makes it doubly sure you're covered. You can even read the embedded Product Key by installing and running ProduKey and lookng for OEM-BIOS key, although you shouldn't need it with the DL. http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/produkey-x64.zip

To find out what's running mgadiag I'd go over this checklist to make sure the install is set up correctly, optimized for best performance, and any needed repairs get done: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/wiki...

Start with Step 4 to turn off Startup freeloaders which can conflict and cause issues, then Step 7 to check for infection the most through way, then step 10 to check for damaged System Files. Then continue with the other steps.

I hope this helps. Feel free to ask back any questions and let us know how it goes. I will keep working with you until it's resolved.

    Sorry for the double post.

Activation says Windows is activated with a digital license linked to your Microsoft account.

Is this enough to prove authenticity of my copy?

    Hi Greg,

Thanks a lot for the quick response. I wasn't aware that this tool isn't relevant anymore.

My Alienware machine came preloaded with a copy of Windows 10.

I believe this was a factory install.

Hi Atishay. I'm Greg, an installation specialist and 8 year Windows MVP, here to help you.

We don't use that tool any longer.

How was Windows 10 activated on the PC? Factory Install? Free Upgrade? What was the original OS on the PC?

What does it say at Settings > Update & Security > Activation under Edition and Status?

Run the Activation Troubleshooter at the same location.

I hope this helps. Feel free to ask back any questions and let us know how it goes. I will keep working with you until it's resolved.
